A Storytime About Failure

While failure can be difficult for little ones, it is possibly our best opportunity to learn. I appreciate how Beaty’s Rosie Revere, Engineer teaches this lesson. Amy Weir, a youth services librarian from Pennsylvania, gives a play-by-play template on her storytime devoted to appreciating how to fail. She provides her inspiration for the theme, a great book list, and a fantastic follow-up activity: stain drawings. She printed images of ink blots and coffee mug stains that the children turned into art.
